Najmanje dvadeset migranata iz Afrike poginulo je nakon što je njihov brod potonuo uz obalu Tunisa, dok su pokušavali prijeći Mediteran i stići do talijanskog otoka Lampeduze.

Informaciju je Reutersu potvrdio tuniški dužnosnik, Ali Ayari, koji je rekao kako su tijela migranata pronađena na oko deset kilometara udaljenosti od kopna.

“Pronašli smo dvadeset tijela. Petero ljudi smo spasili, svi su iz sub-saharskog dijela Afrike”, dodao je.

Traga se za još dvadeset ljudi

Na brodu koji je potonuo bilo je oko 45 ljudi, potvrdio je dužnosnik Ayari te dodao kako se za 20 ljudi još uvijek traga.

Obala uz tuniški lučki grad Sfax postala je glavna destinacija ljudima koji bježe od siromaštva i sukoba u Africi i na Bliskom istoku i koji traže mir u Europi.
