Proširenje Unije nazvao je "pozitivnim projektom za mir i prosperitet"

The need for reconciliation between the EU member states with a sense of reciprocity and solidarity in order to implement the new Pact on Immigration, stressed the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his meeting at the Maximos Palace with the President of the European Parliament David. At the same time, the Prime Minister sent a message to Turkey, stressing that it is not possible to use refugees and immigrants as pawns "in a big geopolitical game". Also, during the meeting, Mr. Mitsotakis praised the importance of the European Recovery Fund and agreed with Mr. Sassoli on the possible possibility of the Recovery Fund becoming a stable, a permanent institution, a permanent financial tool of the European Union. According to the Prime Minister, this presupposes that the Member States will use the resources of the Fund in the right direction. For his part, David Sassoli said that the pandemic also brought to the fore the issue of the proper functioning of the European Union, which, as he said, should be addressed with realism, and not with ideology. Predsjednik Europskog parlamenta David Sassoli pozvao je da se dopusti državama zapadnog Balkana ulazak u Europsku uniju, nazivajući proširenje “pozitivnim projektom za mir i prosperitet”.

“Proširenje može donijeti ogromne koristi kako regiji, tako i Europi u cjelini i pomoći osigurati stabilan, prosperitetan i miran kontinent”, rekao je u nedjelju predjednik EU parlamenta David Sassoli za Funke Mediengruppe.

EU vodi pregovore sa Srbijom i Crnom Gorom

Tempo će, dodao je, ovisiti o ispunjavanju pristupnih kriterija. “Reforme još uvijek trebaju biti provedene u svakoj od ovih zemalja”, istaknuo je Sassoli i dodao da “Europska unija također mora održati svoja obećanja i prepoznati napredak”.

Uz Srbiju i Crnu Goru, zemlje zapadnog Balkana uključuju Albaniju, Sjevernu Makedoniju, Bosnu i Hercegovinu i Kosovo. EU već vodi pregovore o pristupanju EU s Crnom Gorom i Srbijom, dok su Albanija i Sjeverna Makedonija službeni kandidati, a Bosna i Hercegovina kao i Kosovo smatraju se potencijalnim kandidatima za pregovore, piše dpa.
