Velika Britanija i Francuska zatražile su od drugih zemalja EU-a da im pomognu u rješavanju imigrantske krize u Calaisu, piše u nedjelju BBC.

U listu Sunday Telegraph, ministrica unutarnjih poslova Theresa May i njezin francuski kolega Bernard Cazeneuve kazali su da se radi o “globalnoj izbjegličkoj krizi”.

Dodatne mjere sigurnosti

Migranti u Calaisu svake noći pokušavaju ući u tunel ispod La Manchea ne bi li se dokopali Velike Britanije.

Britanski premijer David Cameron i francuski predsjednik Francois Hollande dogovorili su u petak dodatne mjere sigurnosti na francuskom kraju tunela, uključivo bolji video nadzor, pojačanja francuskih policijskih snaga i dodatne ograde.

Stiglo 600 dodatnih policajaca

Više od 600 pripadnika francuske specijalne policije razmješteno je već u Calaisu, zajedno s lokalnom policijom.

“To pitanje nije problem samo naše dvije zemlje”, pišu May i Cazeneuve. “To je prioritet i na europskoj i na međunarodnoj razini”.

“Mnogi od onih u Calaisu već su prošli svoj put kroz Italiju, Grčku i druge zemlje, stoga tražimo od drugih zemalja i čitave EU da se pozabave tim problemom u korijenu”.

Oni sugeriraju da bi dugoročno rješenje problema moglo biti uvjeriti migrante da “naše ulice nisu popločane zlatom”.
