Nogometaši Arsenala došli su na drugo mjesto ljestvice Engleske lige pobjedom u 9. kolu kod Watforda (3-0). Također, 36. pobjedom u gostima protiv još jednog kluba koji je tek izborio promociju u Premier ligu trener Arsenala Arsene Wenger izjednačio se s velikim Alexom Fergusonom.
